I’ve seen far too many divorces caused by the strain of trying to operate a Mom & Pop business. The major problem with a husband and wife working together in their own business is that the daily problems follow them home. They don’t get a break from the job or from each other.

I agree wholeheartedly! Like you, I’ve been a Doonesbury fan and follower from the get-go and have aged along with the characters.

It doesn’t seem possible that Doonesbury will be 54 years old on Oct. 26th this year … but then, it doesn’t seem possible that I’m going to be 80 on Oct. 23rd!

Don Martin epitomized MAD magazine! He was a gifted cartoonist and a truly talented artist, who inspired and encouraged many others. One of my favorites!

¡Feliz Cumpleaños, Don Martin! wherever you are.

I still do that. But rarely do I or my alter-egos feature in my fantasies.

The supporting cast is far more interesting to me than my protagonist. Those characters live a lot longer in my crazed imagination before they ever become part of a page of prose.

I tend to react and respond to criticism in a less dramatic fashion. Although, calling some critics Pez dispensers might be a tad mild for my taste.

I would definitely be aiming my retaliatory kicks a lot higher than the ankles!
