Hey, sometimes ya just gotta vent. If you feel the need again, just start with

    OT: I gotta vent!

then do a reply to that comment (maybe copy and paste it so that nobody replies with a “???” first) so that folks can scroll past if they want.

Personally, I missed the comment. My Mom-In-Law has “joked” that her second son didn’t give her a grand-baby; instead we gave her a grand-dog! We might’a been great parents, but then again, maybe not.

“Hoshi has been on kitten-safe antibiotics for mastitis”

Something that sounds bizarre and couldn’t/wouldn’t possibly work – but it does! – is to place a fresh cabbage leaf over the place where a cat or human is suffering from mastitis. Fix it so that it stays there for “awhile”. I placed cabbage leaves on our momma cat’s bed after tearing them so that they’d lay flat when she had mastitis. I swapped them out about once a day unless they became soiled.

Since she was claiming to be feral, I had to put her and the bebehs in a “kennel” (2′×2′×3′ in area) so she’d have to lay down on them. I saw (and felt) the mass shrink quite a bit in size after 2 days! I’m sure it would have healed faster if there had been some way for me to attach the leaves to her stomach. (maybe with some tiny holes for nursing?)

We once had a Smol Tuxedo girl who, when she yawned, her mouth looked like 1/3 of her head unhinged and her tongue reached out what seemed to be an unnatural length! Cell phones didn’t take pictures at that time, so we couldn’t get proof.
