We once had a stray called Manky (because he was when we first got him.) He was a bit… damaged and could get nasty if he thought he was being attacked. But he mostly held it in. The bully cats of the neighbourhood avoided him, though… Which our other cats were thankful for.
I recall the time one of ours pushed him though. His response was brilliant. She trapped him in a hallway. He stopped, turned around and walked towards her. She backed off, hissing. He kept coming. She went under the telephone desk, hissing. He kept coming. She backed against the wall. He stopped walking, turned his head to glance at her… And walked past. She never tried that again!
Local town called Caldicot has a town centre cat. A mid-teens lady called Doris who wanders around the small town centre, occasionally gets locked in shops and, generally, just wanders, looking for petting.
Puck would love to be on ‘Sesame Street’, wouldn’t he?
