   Hello Hello Everyone, I think since hikers hiking in the woods carry bear spray to repel bear attacks and attacks by chili peppers were reported he’s reminding the others to carry pepper spray.  Kind of a reference to “If peanut oil is made from peanuts, what is baby oil made of?”

   I would’ve sworn that I’ve seen it spelled “Luddie” in the strip before but I think today’s is the phonetic spelling.  Since his name “Ludwig” is pronounced “Lood vig” (at least in German it is) it makes sense the nickname would be pronounced “Loo dee.”

   And regarding “I suppose people can mess with their pets’ names like that sometimes…”  That’s true, considering what parents have done with children’s names to make them stand out and be special!
