The pipeline itself, other than the land grab, isn’t the real problem, as witness the train explosion/derailment with Bakken oil in W. Virginia. Interesting a Bakkan load going through the very heart of COAL COUNTRY. But their coal is going to export right along with it.

Which; where is there a reward for this mess that is the PRODUCT not the transportation, as there’s absolutely none there, oh right, those hard workers in the 1% who invest instead of work it, or suffer the consequences environmentally, get plenty of rewards.

The Deepwater Horizon experience showed off the capabilities of the oil industry to ensure safety.

Plus, their competence and enthusiasm for cleaning up spills and making the area of the spill(s) whole, has been demonstrated over and over.

    BUT, they’re Republicans.So it’s OKAY.

Has anyone seen any reports as to the cause of these train derailments?

clay is a drone….we have thousands and thousands and thousands of pipelines carrying all kinds of products…including jet fuel to airports…where are the accidents??? NOT!….if we had to carry all these products by trucks or trains WE WOULD HAVE MORE PROBLEMS…NOT LESS!!

Eugene: over the years, seen a number of reports on derailments, including my local, and short line, railroad. The failure of the FREIGHT haulers, Santa Fe, Burlington Northern, etc, to MAINTAIN the rails they were supposed to maintain in PERPETUITY for receiving millions of acres of federal lands, and the OIL underneath it, has been the cause that “shall not be seen”, all too often. Amtrack could have been running 100 mph or even 200 mph high speed passenger service, if those roadbeds and rails had been improved and maintained to meet demands and progress. Instead, those “railroads” pulled llines, and failed to maintain, let alone upgrade infrastructure.

The situation in a nutshell – except the “risk” lines should be much, much larger. But, looking at a ’toon of a rounded wall rising to the heavens, with a straw sticking out of it, would not be instantly comprehensible like this one is.

@Cerabooge: “Clapping your hands over your ears, while wearing a blindfold and chanting ‘na na na na’, does not make reality go away.”.It will if somebody shoots you while you’re “carefully” ignoring them.

“… where in the bible is (petrol) oil ever mentioned?”.You don’t see the story about the “burning Bush” as a prophecy about our recent President and the basis of his power?
