If I run out of certain staples such as sugar, milk, pasta, butter, eggs, etc., I can still wait a few days before I need pick up groceries. But if I run out of yogurt or fruit, then I HAVE to go to the store. So, what’s it like for the Orbsters here? what do you HAVE to have in the fridge (or pantry) at all times?

When my last cat passed, I had cans and cans of food left. I always stocked up on sale. I took it down to the humane society and boy were they happy!!

Corliss: Oh, it’s delicious. It’s considered a delicacy throughout the know world.

Corliss: There’s plenty of cheese for sale, as well as cheese snacks. Of course, sometimes a wheel or two goes missing.

Thankfully, cat food is one of those things that we haven’t run out of. For the most part, I keep a pretty well-stocked pantry because you never know when you will need two tablespoons of Dijon mustard, capers, or five anchovy filets. Perishables are a little more problematic, and I have had to run to the store for them.

As always, Elvis is a master of outrage.

Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard,

To fetch her poor cats some food.

But when she got there the cupboard was bare,

And so the poor cats sat down to brood.

She went to the fishmonger’s to buy them some fish,

But when she came back they were licking the dish.

She went to the grocer’s to buy them some treats,

But when she came back they were sprawled cross the seats!

My girl Jez eats from a dog-sized gravity feeder. She can tell when the amount inside is low, and she will bring me into the kitchen and start rubbing herself against the bag of food I keep on the microwave oven stand nearby.

The Woman had better not bring home Keeble instead of Kibble. That was a disaster. And none of that health food stuff either!

Hurry back, Woman, or there will be serious consequences!

We always tell the cat when we’re going to the grocery stores that we’re performing a Service to Cats because we need to keep up our strength. She’s not convinced.

If we think Elvis is outraged now, just wait until The Woman returns home with Senior Kibble for him.

When I leave, i’m told, Gracie goes through the house yelling and crying for me. Then when I get home I usually find her in the middle of my bed sleeping. Sara will come to meet me, but not Gracie. And Sara does her happy dance when I bring her the wheat grass. She likes it more than catnip.

So the Apocalypse begins…

“Have you forgotten that you have CATS?!!” Poor Elvis.

There’s only one place to feed a cat next door. I haven’t had the courage to ask but I haven’t seen one of the kitties in weeks.

What do we want? FOOD! When do we want it? NOW!

Got kitties their kibble last Friday. Always make sure that there’s food for them.

Woman, how can you empty a bag of cat food and do nothing until the next feeding? Do you not have cats when the bag is empty? ( is it like peek-a-boo with babies.) Whoa, indeed.
